3 Year Old Drowns In Swimming Pool
A 3 year old girl drowned in the swimming pool of a holiday let villa in Tinajo this week. Paramedics were called, and despite carrying out CPR, they were unable to revive here. The foreign girl had been on holiday for two days with her parents. It’s the third death of a child in the island’s pools this summer.
Record Breaking August For Hotels
Lanzarote’s hotels recorded a record breaking August, with hotels recording almost 90 million Euros in revenue, up 13.2% on last year, and occupancy of just over 85%.The number of workers employed in the sector also increased by 12.4% year on year, to 11,156.
Four Seasons Yacht Will Dock In Arrecife
One of the super luxury Four Seasons Yachts will dock in Arrecife on 6th November. The yachts have 95 suites, hosting up to 220 passengers. The cruise season for the island is ramping up now, and we’re expecting that Arrecife will finish the year with over 700,000 visitors from cruise ships.
Horror Crash On LZ2
In a horrific crash on the LZ2 in Tias, a young man died when his car flew over the barriers and rolled over several times. Police and paramedics did their best to revive him, but he was too badly injured.
Eight Boats Arrive From Sahara
Eight boats made the crossing from the Saharan coast, with the calm weather over the last few days, bringing 500 migrants. They will be transferred to other islands to be processed in the next few days.
